James "Jim" Martin Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio James "Jim" O. Martin, age 49, died at 4:14 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, Ohio. His death resulted from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on April 28, 1966, in Bluffton, Ohio to Richard O. and Sandra A. (Waller) Martin. They both survive in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Jim is also survived by one son: Charles O. Martin of Findlay; one daughter: Alissa N. Martin of Findlay and two sisters: Christina M. Babione of Findlay and Teresa L. Martin of Columbus Grove. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1984, after which he attended UNOH, Lima, Automotive Institute, for the one year instruction course. Jim was a seven year veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He served in the Gulf War, during Desert Storm. He was a patron of the American Legion Post 516, VFW Post 9648, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie #2772, all of Columbus Grove. He had been employed at KMI of Kalida, then Trinity Manufacturing of Lima and currently employed at Sanoh America, Inc. of Findlay, in the Maintenance Department. He loved boating, fishing and hunting. He was an avid "Ford Truck" man. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Deacon James Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Osborn Cemetery, Columbus Grove, where a Military Service will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Color Guard. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Challenged Champions Equestrian Center, 11913 Road 6, Ottawa, Ohio 45875, where 20 local veterans are currently receiving Equine Therapy.
