Columbus Grove, Ohio James Edward "Butch" Moore, age 73, died at 2:00 a.m., on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Richland Manor, Beaverdam. He was born on August 11, 1943, in Lima, to Richard James and Edna Mae (Selhorst) Moore. They both preceded him in death. On March 17, 1978 he married Sharon Myers Barber, and she survives near Columbus Grove. Butch is survived by one son: Christopher; four daughters: Dawn, Ronda, Amber and Barbara; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister: Barbara Klein of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.; two nephews: Jason Klein and Benji (Stephanie) Klein and their children: Jacob, Lucas and Lorelei all of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; one brother: Denny Moore of Michigan; one half-brother: Tim Moore of Indiana; two sisters in-law: Ilo Hoskins of Vaughnsville, and Bonnie (Alvin) Schumacher of Columbus Grove and one brother in-law: Doyle (Donna) Myers of Attica. He was preceded in death by two sisters in-law: Eloise (Ted) Verhoff and Gladys (Joe) Verhoff; and two brothers in-law: Rudy Klein and George Hoskins. Mr. Moore had been a Semi driver for Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Kalida, and then retired in 1996 from the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, Bridge Department, Lima. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #516, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2772, both of Columbus Grove; Amvets Post 39 of Indian Lake; and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1533, Indian Lake. He was a NASCAR fan for many years and had enjoyed camping for 16 years at Indian Lake. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home Columbus Grove, Deacon Jim Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in Truro West Cemetery, Columbus Grove, with military rites by the combined Color Guard of the American Legion and VFW both of Columbus Grove. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Richland Manor for the excellent care given to Jim for the last few months, and also Richland-Beaverdam EMS and Hartman Sons Funeral Home.
