ELIDA Jack L. “J.D.” Decker, 62, died at 11:15 p.m. Nov. 25, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born March 14, 1951 in Lima, to Fredrick L. and Jane A. (Sybert) Decker, who preceded him in death. On June 27, 1975, he married Barbara A. Niese, who survives. Mr. Decker was a graduate of Elida High School, after which he served in the United States Army. After his military career, he drove truck for J. M. Sealts Wholesale Grocery, Lima, Ohio, retiring after 34 years. Jack was a member of the Elida United Methodist Church and a member of the Columbus Grove Eagle’s, Arie #2772. He was fun loving, had a great ability to make others laugh, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He enjoyed playing guitar, working in the yard, flower gardening and being one with nature. His family and time spent with them was the true love and joy of his life. Survivors also include two sons, Michael Decker and Adam (Carly Ramsdell) Decker, both of Lima; two brothers, Dennis Decker, of Lima, and David Decker, of Elida; and one sister, Debra Geary, of Elida. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove with the Rev. Brian Knoderer officiating. Burial will be at Gomer Pike Run Cemetery in Gomer with military rites. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
