Shawnee Township, Ohio Irvin "Butch-Andy" Anderson, age 73, died at 8:12 p.m., on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Kindred Care Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born on September 10, 1942, in Lima, Ohio to Irvin S. and Mary M. (Barkimer) Anderson. They both preceded him in death. On January 23, 1998, he married Paulette "Polly" Pickner, and she survives. He is survived by his seven children: Linda Bell, David (Barbara) Anderson, Kerry (Bob) Mock and Terry Irvin Anderson all of Peru, IN, Michael Anderson of Seattle, WA, Mark (Alanda) Hilty of West Mansfield, OH and Robin (Jerry) VonHoy of Toledo, OH; fifteen grandchildren: twelve great grandchildren and his five siblings: Sharon Bledsoe of Lima, OH, Terry (Brenda) Anderson of Elida, OH, Bob (Sarah) Anderson of Montpelier, OH, Mary Cramer and Nancy Goedde both of Columbus Grove, Ohio. Butch was preceded in death by a brother: Larry Joe Smith. Mr. Anderson had attended Columbus Grove High School. In 1961 he entered the United States Air Force, where he retired after 20 years of military service. He was a member of the Columbus Grove VFW, post 9648, where he was the past District Commander. Andy was also a past member of Bower Slusser American Legion Post 516 and Faternal Order of Eagles, Arie 2772 both of Columbus Grove. He enjoyed woodworking. Memorial services will begin at 1:00 pm, on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Burial will follow at Truro West Cemetery, Columbus Grove, with military rites by the Columbus Grove American Legion-VFW Color Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
