Iona Roberts Obituary
Vaughnsville, Ohio Iona Roberts, age 74, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 1:26 pm at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio. She was born on January 27, 1942, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Grover and Belva (Patrick) Johnson. They both preceded her in death. On October 13, 1962, she married Ronald Wayne Roberts , and he survives in Vaughnsville. Iona is also survived by two daughters: Kimberly (Bill) Young of Vaughnsville and April Roof of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren: Billy (Amy) Young, Megan Roof, Hannah Roof, Lisa (Jeremy Heffelfinger) Young and Cecila Young; and eight great grandchildren: Boston, Braydin, Jaxin, Emma, Jacob, Seth, Malachi and Grace; three brothers: Grover (Theresa) Johnson of Vancleave, MS, James (Deb Gayheart) Johnson of Munfordville, KY, and Earl (Carmelita) Johnson of Lima, OH; four sisters: Marie (Elvin) Bachman of Vaughnsville, OH, Kathy (John) Diehl of Lakeview, OH, Bessie (Bill) Turner of Delphos, OH and Teresa (Leonard) Akers of Banner, KY. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Avalon Shepherd, Leatrice Sybert and Elouise Griffith; and one brother: Phillip Johnson. Iona was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Arie #370 and the Loyal order of Moose, Lodge #199, both of Lima. Services will begin at 6:00 pm, on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Jim Baker will officiate. Friends may call from 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, prior to the funeral service at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Joint graveside services for Iona and Ronald will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Vaughnsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Memorial Hospital Foundation.
