Columbus Grove Helen L. Schroeder, 77, died at 9:38 a.m. Oct. 19, 2011, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Cloverdale to Henry and Lillian Miller Schnipke, who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1955, she married Donald L. Schroeder, who died Nov. 16, 1987. Mrs. Schroeder was a graduate of Ottoville High School, Ottoville. She was a homemaker and had worked part-time at the Grove Dairy Whip. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and it Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a member of the Golden Steppers Dance Group and a volunteer at St. Rita's Medical Center, Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, and the Meadows of Kalida in Kalida. She cherished her faith, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially enjoyed attending their events and activities. Survivors include five sons, Dale (Vicky) Schroeder and Mark (Margery) Schroeder, both of Columbus Grove, Charles (Karen) Schroeder, of Ottawa, Thomas (Barb) Schroeder, of Columbus Grove, and Keith (Jan) Schroeder, of Lima; two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Morman, of Glandorf, and Ann (Alan) Koch, of Ottawa; five brothers, Othmar (Delores) Schnipke and Oscar (Shirley) Schnipke, both of Glandorf, Bob (Pat) Schnipke, of Ottawa Lake, Mich., Ralph (Wilma) Schnipke, of Cloverdale, and Karl (Pat) Schnipke, of Toledo; two sisters, Margie Schroeder, of Kalida, and Laura (Dick) Coressel, of Glandorf; a sister-in-law, Pam Schnipke; and 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Urban (Betty) and Virgil Schnipke; and a brother-in-law, Dan Schroeder. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. The Revs. Ken Schnipke and Gene Schnipke will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School Endowment Fund.
