Columbus Grove, Ohio
Heather Marie Oatman, age 50, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo. She was born on May 11, 1972, in Springfield, Ohio, to Kenny and Beverly (Vertner) Williams and married Charles “Chuck” Oatman on October 24, 1992.
Heather is survived by her loving husband, Chuck, and their two daughters, Chassidy (fiancé Brandon Grigsby) and Claire all of Columbus Grove. She is also survived by her parents Kenny (Amy) Williams and Beverly (Robert) Spencer, all of Alger, her half-brother Blake (Celeste) Williams of Ada, and her half-sister Megan Williams (fiancé Brady Broadstone) of Alger. Also surviving are her uncle Duane and aunt Diane Williams along with two nieces and two nephews.
Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Kent and Pauline Williams and Robert and Alice Jane Vertner and her uncle Steve (Weeble) Williams.
Heather was a high school graduate of Upper Scioto Valley in the class of 1990 who went on to get her associate’s at Lima Tech and bachelor’s at Bluffton University. She worked at the Union Bank Company as a Human Resource Manager for nearly 25 years. Heather was a member of the Ottawa Rotary and enjoyed watching her daughters’ sporting events, 4-H shows, and Soap Box Derby races along with family time which was spent watching movies, by the pool, playing cards, on the beach, and on family vacations.
Friends may call at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 5:00-8:00pm. Services will be at Hartman Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00 am. Pastor Brad Taylor presiding and burial will follow at Lewis Grove Cemetery.
A fund has been set up at the Union Bank Company to which contributions can be made in Heather’s memory.
