Columbus Grove – Grant John Siefker (15) passed away on January 7, 2024. He was born on November 19, 2008, in Lima to Adam and Kim (Schimmoeller) Siefker, who survive in Columbus Grove, who continue to be so proud to call him their son. Grant is also survived by his brother Garrett and his sister Lillian, who loved to call him their brother, both at home in Columbus Grove.
Grant will be missed, and is also survived, by his grandmother Jane Schimmoeller (Bill Ellerbrock) of Fort Jennings and his grandmother Marilyn Siefker, Columbus Grove. He will also be missed by his aunts and uncles, Karen (Ryan) Horstman of Ottoville and Kate (Bryan) Blue of Columbus Grove, Laura (Alton) Warniment of Pandora, Elizabeth (Shane) Sudlow of Columbus Grove, Sarah (Tim) Faber of Glandorf, Philip (Alesha) Siefker, and Aaron (Erica) Siefker, both of Columbus Grove.
Grant also enjoyed hanging out with his cousins, Haley, Karlee, Courtney, and Abby Horstman; Bryant & Kaden Blue; Gracee, Emma, Lucie, and Jude Warniment; Hunter & Walker Sudlow; Chase, Carson, Will, and Addyson Faber; and Arthur, Hazel, and Margaret Siefker. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dan Schimmoeller and John Siefker, his uncle and godfather Nathan, and two cousins Griffin and Stella Warniment.
Grant was such a kind, hardworking, giving, young man who was well liked by so many. He will be also missed by his many friends who he thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with! Grant was a mass server at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 4-H member, Leo Club, and enjoyed playing football, basketball, and running track for the Columbus Grove Bulldogs. He was a quick-learner and loved every bit of farming and enjoyed hunting. Grant was also an OSU Buckeyes and a Houston Texans fan.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 9th 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Wednesday January 10th 2:00 – 8:00 pm at Hartman Son’s Funeral Home in Columbus Grove. Grant’s family requests you wear your favorite sports attire. His funeral will be celebrated Thursday January 11th at 10:00 am with Fr. David Ritchie officiating at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Columbus Grove and his burial will be in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the Columbus Grove Livestock 4H Club.
