Gloria A "Sue" Risser's Obituary
Gloria Sue Risser, 92, of Columbus Grove, met her Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, December 24, 2025. She was born on September 24, 1933, in Ironton, Ohio to the late Roy and Maude (Morgan) Rankin. She was married to Marvin A. Risser who preceded her in death.
Gloria was a 1951 graduate of Columbus Grove High School and was a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church, Columbus Grove VFW Post 9648 and American Legion Post 516 Auxiliaries. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their school activities and sporting events. She was a faithful supporter of any team they were playing for and represented the true meaning of "mom goggles"" for she could not see them do anything wrong. Gloria had a tremendous talent of crocheting and created many afghans and doilies as gifts for her family and friends. She also had a soft heart for all animals and would frequently take in stray dogs and cats and provide them with a loving home.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Rick Stechschulte) Risser; sons, Michael (Connie) Risser, Dan (Cheryl) Risser, Tracy (Ronda Nartker) Risser; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Risser, Matthew Risser, Jeht Risser, Rusty Nartker, Rayce (Brenna) Risser, Dillon Risser and Madison Risser; 3 great grandchildren, Brianna Risser, Austin Holbrook and McClaine Risser. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Rankin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, at Columbus Grove Christian Church, 105 S. Broadway Street, Columbus Grove, with visitation from 9:00am to 11:00am. Pastor Geoffrey Eubank officiating. Burial to follow at Vaughnsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Columbus Grove Christian Church.
