Columbus Grove Franklin B. Hermiller, 83, died at 7:25 a.m. Sept. 7, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Columbus Grove to Herman A. and Anna Leopold Hermiller, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 30, 1950, he married Leonissa "Betty" Miller, who survives. Mr. Hermiller attended Columbus Grove High School. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from the former Scott Lad Foods, Lima. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2772, of Columbus Grove, and a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. Survivors include three sons, David Hermiller, Steve (Sue) Hermiller and Gary Hermiller, all of Columbus Grove; three daughters, Linda (Dave) Galyk and Sharon (Doug) Rellinger, both of Ottoville, and Pam (Steve) Wiseman, of Columbus Grove; a son-in-law, Robert Siebeneck, of Waukegan, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Hermiller, of Columbus Grove; one brother, Clifford Hermiller, of Columbus Grove; one sister, Jeannette Gerdeman, of Ottawa; and 14 grandchildren, Chris Siebeneck, Wendy (Shawn) Schimmoeller, Sara Hermiller, Ben Rellinger, Adam Rellinger, Cassie (Benji) Troyer, Laura Hermiller, Mandy Hermiller, Danielle Rellinger, Jessica Hermiller, Samantha Rellinger, Stephanie Wiseman and Madison Wiseman. He was preceded in death by a son, Leonard "Len" Hermiller; and a daughter, Barbara Siebeneck. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Thomas Extejt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a scripture service will begin at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's School Endowment Fund or Life Teen Program of St. Anthony.
