Columbus Grove, Ohio Floyd Ramsey, 71, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was born March 1, 1947, to Floyd and Voniel (Graham) Ramsey. They both preceded him in death. Following his graduation from Columbus Grove High School, in 1966, he joined the Army and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War. In the early 70's, Floyd began his 45+ year career at the Lima Engine, Ford Motor Company, UAW 1219, working until recently, as a skilled tradesman. He was a member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge - Lima B.P.O.E. #54. He took heartfelt, profound pleasure in spending time with his family and immense pride in faming the family land. He enjoyed his coffee black, thick-sliced pepper bacon, listening to Leonard Cohen and watching the sun rise and set over the farm. Floyd felt a strong connection to nature and loved traveling through the western United States. Floyd is survived by his wife, Mary Ramsey and three daughters, Margot (Michael) Repas of Columbus, Gretchen (Peter) Bauman of St. Louis and Molly (Richard) Cissell of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Emily Briley and Lincoln Cissell; three sisters, Betty (Martin) Schumacher of Columbus Grove, Helen (Frank) Lewis of Elida and Shirley Johnston of Columbus Grove; sister in-law, Alice Wiswasser of Columbus Grove and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Billy Wiswasser; brother in-law, Donald Johnston and nephew Jeffrey Schumacher. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Following the service, military rites by the combined Columbus Grove American Legion and VFW Color Guard will be presented at Osborn Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, June 1, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Putnam County HomeCare and Hospice, 575 Ottawa Glandorf Road, #3, Ottawa, Ohio 45875.
