RIMER Evelyn Berdene Thompson, 91, passed away Jan. 15, 2013, following a period of declining health. She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Rimer to Lloyd O. and Margie Mikesell Heidlebaugh, and they preceded her in death, along with her two brothers, Perc A. and Rex Wayne Heidlebaugh. She married James Orbie Thompson, of Lexington, Ala., on May 5, 1943, who died Feb. 13, 2011. They are survived by their daughters, Barbara Kidd, of Columbus, and Beth (Ted) Kray, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and their son James (Noi) Thompson, of Rimer. She has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They lived many winter seasons in Fort Myers, Fla., but always called Rimer their home. She, together with Orbie, attended Bethlehem Christian Union Church and Ottawa River Church of God. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Burial will be in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions maybe made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 E. High St., Second Floor, Lima, OH 45801; The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2225 Citygate Drive, Suite E, Columbus, OH 43219; or to the church of the donor’s choice.
