Columbus Grove, Ohio Elmer B. Ellerbrock, age 85, died at 3:28 a.m., on Sunday , June 21, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born in Kalida, Ohio on January 3, 1930, to Harry and Martha (Meyer) Ellerbrock. They preceded him in death. On September 14, 1955, he married Martha Morman. She survives in Columbus Grove. Mr. Ellerbrock was a graduate of Kalida High School. After which he entered the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Elmer had retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and the Knight of Columbus, Council #9788. He was a member of the Lima Elk's Lodge #54; a life member and Past Commander of the Bower Slusser American Legion Post #516 and a life member VFW Post 9648, both of Columbus Grove. Survivors include a son: Robert (Jacqueline) Ellerbrock, Continental, Ohio; two grandchildren: Joy (Derek) Heitzman and Whitney Ellerbrock; two great grandchildren: Dane and Louisa Heitzman; three brothers: Arthur (Mary Lou) Ellerbrock, Glandorf, Ohio; Norbert (Gloria) Ellerbrock and Ralph (Joyce) Ellerbrock, both of Ottawa, Ohio; and two sisters: Mary Ann Erhart, Ottawa, Ohio and Mildred (Bill) Kroeger, Venedocia, Ohio. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one grandson: Marcus Ellerbrock and two sisters: Luella Dickman and Mathilda Ellerbrock. Friends may call on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a Rosary Service will be held at the close of visitation, by the St. Anthony Church Knights of Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio, with Father Tom Extejt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Church Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio, where a graveside Military Service will be conducted by the combined Columbus Grove American Legion and VFW Color Guard.
