Columbus Grove, Ohio Elfleda “Elfie” P. Bourquin, 68, of Yorba Linda, CA, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Kaiser Anaheim Medical Center, Anaheim, CA. She was born February 8, 1946, in Daraga, Albay, Philippines to the late Alejandro and Remedios (Ludovice) Presbitero. Elfie earned a BS in Chemical Engineering at University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She was a Chemical Engineer at the Chemical Systems Laboratory, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland: General Engineer at Aeronautical Systems Division, Wright Patterson Air Force base, Ohio and Ballistic Missile Division, Norton Air Force base, California, Senior Systems Engineer at the Space and Missiles Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force base, California. She gave regular briefings to Air Force General Officers. She was a member of the Society of Women Engineers, the Air Force Association, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, the St, Martin Parish Church, and the Catholic Daughters of America. Elfie married William Bourquin, August 24, 1974, who survives in Yorba Linda, CA. They are the parents of Bruce Bourquin, Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Other survivors include brothers Gil L. and Nilo L. Presbitero, both of Daraga, Albay, Philippines, and sisters, Memenia P. Bracamante, West Covina, CA, Ruby P. Catron, Chandler, IN, Celerina L. Presbitero, Minneapolis, MN, and Nora P. Morden, Gardena, CA. A brother-in-law, David Bourquin, Redlands, CA, sister-in-law, Diane (Gene) Bywater, Milford, OH, and mother-in-law, Marie Bourquin, Bluffton, OH. In addition to her parents, Elfie was preceded in death by her brothers, Alan L. Presbitero, Elmer L. Presbitero, Alejandro Presbitero, Jr. and her father-in-law Gladwin Bourquin. There will be a Rosary Service at 8:00 PM Friday evening, January 30, 2015, at the St. Anthony Church in Columbus Grove. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, from 10:00 AM until 12 noon, at which time the Rev. Tom Extejt of St. Anthony Parish Church, will conduct services. Burial will follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
