Edwin "Ed" McNamara Obituary
Cairo, Ohio Edwin D. McNamara, Sr., 70, died at 7:00 a.m., on Friday, February 26, 2016, at his home in Cairo, Ohio. He was born on February 12, 1946 in Lima, to Kenneth and Frances Catherine (Brenneman) McNamara. They both preceded him in death. He had been married to Karlene Johnston, and she survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. McNamara had attended Cairo and Columbus Grove Schools, and graduated from Bath High School, class of 1964. He had worked for Teledyne Ohio Steel, Lima. He then worked and retired from Superior Forge & Steel of Lima. Ed's hobbies included gardening, raising angel fish, canaries and rabbits, and he was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He is survived by two sons: Edwin (Kay) McNamara, Jr. of Mt. Victory, and Eric McNamara of Cairo; one daughter: Tiffany Elchert of Cairo; seven grandchildren: Anthony Elchert, Jr., Amanda (Mike) Hoskins, Michelle McNamara, Vincent McNamara, Leah Brown, Tyler Triplett and Nyssa McNamara; three great grandchildren: Camden, Karlie and Kaitlyn; two brothers: Michael (Karri) McNamara of Arlington, Texas, and Dennis (Keanna) McNamara of Lima and two sisters: Carolyn Dunahay of Cairo, and Joyce Terhark of Continental. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate, with burial to follow in Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
