(Edna) Bailey Obituary
Gaithersburg, MD Edna Naomi Mark Bailey, age 93, died at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Asbury United Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, MD. She was born on December 4, 1921 in Spencerville, Ohio to Hobart and Ival (Purdy) Mark, they both preceded her in death. On April 5, 1942, Naomi married Lewis Calvin Bailey. He died on July 28, 1953. Mrs. Bailey was a graduate of Spencerville High School and the Lima Secretarial School. During WWII, Naomi had moved to California, where she worked in a factory on the airplanes. She retired in 1985 from Lima State Hospital where she was an Office Manager. She was a life member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lima, Ohio. Naomi having been a longtime resident of Lima, moved to Gaithersburg, MD in 2003 to be closer to her immediate family. She is survived by son in-law: John Arthur Richards of North Potomac, MD.; a grand-daughter: Elizabeth Helen Richards Bailey (David Scott Bailey) of Manassas, VA. and many beloved Nieces and Nephews. Naomi was preceded in death by a daughter: Susan Jean Bailey Richards and four sisters: Ruth Nelle Miller, Madge Schosker, Jane Maurer and Lynne Stewart. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will follow in Cairo Eastside Cemetery, Cairo, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Historical Society c/o Tom Bayliff 728 E. Fourth Street, Spencerville, OH 45887.
