Cairo, Ohio Edith Solomon, 93, died Saturday December 21, 2013 at 4:50 am at Baton Rouge Health Services Community, Lima. She was born February 17, 1920 in Cairo to Frank and Alzada (Everitt) Stockler, who both preceded her in death. She married Robert E. Solomon February 14, 1939 who died on October 11, 2002. She was a graduate of Lima Central High School, and a member of the Cairo Christian Church. Edith enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had made and donated many lap robes and bibs for the area nursing homes. She had played piano, having played occasionally for Church and Sunday School. She had also taught the Children's Sunday School class for many years. Survivors include three sons: Jon (Deborah) Solomon of Elida; Don Solomon of Monclova, and Mark Solomon of Cairo; one daughter, Sharon Foltz of Lima; five grandchildren; John Otis (Denise) Foltz, Maria Jordon, Christopher (Melanie) Solomon, Matthew Solomon and Jessica Solomon, and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son Robert Daniel "Dan" Solomon; one son in-law Richard Foltz and one daughter in-law, Tami Solomon. Services will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday December 24, 2013 at HARTMAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove, Dr. Charles Hirschy will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Cairo Monroe Township Fire and Rescue Department.
