Dorothy Runneals Obituary
Cairo Dorothy I. Runneals, 82, died at 8 a.m. Oct. 13, 2011, at her residence. She was born March 8, 1929, in Cairo to Grover and Lena Olt Jennings, who preceded her in death. On July 28, 1948, she married Tommie A. Runneals, who died Aug. 16, 2004. Mrs. Runneals was a 1947 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She had worked at Oaks Convalescent Nursing Home, was an Avon representative and retired from Lima Memorial Health System. She was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church and its Women's Society. She had been a member of the Cairo EMS, joining in 1970, and had been a dispatcher for the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department and EMS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include three sons, Terry (Susan) Runneals and Larry (Nadean) Runneals, both of Cairo, and James (Cyndi) Runneals, of Rockford; two daughters, Janice (Thad) Jesko and Linda Runneals, both of Cairo; 14 grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Runneals, Scott (Cindy) Runneals, Ryan (Angie) Runneals, Erik (Monica) Runneals, Tasha (Ian) Sell, Morgan (Ryan) Catlett, Trey Runneals, Candy (Keith) Armstrong, Jodi (Seth) Zimmerman, Chadd Dailey, Kristin Nicole, Brittiney, Steve Jesko, and Brian (Jodi) Jesko; and 24 great-grandchildren, Tori, Nolan, Abbi, Justin, Austin, Brody, Brittany, Tyler, Collin, Megan, Arianna, Tristan, Olivia, Bryce, Chloe, Dyrrick, Seth, Ethan, Eli, Jade, Lillian, Avery, Devin and Kamren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Raymond and Virgil Brenneman; and two sisters, Erma Ridinger and Catherine McNamara. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Greg Coleman and Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department or Cairo United Methodist Church.
