Doris Miller Obituary
Doris Eloise Miller, age 91, passed away at 4:19pm on August 6, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Attalla, AL on February 6, 1933 to Lester and Pansy (Robinson) Norton who preceded her in death.
Doris was also preceded in death by her siblings: Marie (Jack) Nash, Charles (Betty) Norton, James (Helen) Norton, Leon (Jane) Norton, Jerry Norton and Larry Norton. In addition, she was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-laws: Esther (Lynn) Eckenwiler and Walter (Ladonna) Miller.
On December 11, 1954 Doris married Stanley Roger Miller Jr. who preceded her in death. She was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She worked for the family business Miller Excavating, Clems Bakery, and Meijer doing demos, which she truly enjoyed. She was also an attendee of Lima Baptist Temple.
Doris is survived by her son Stanley (Lavonne) Miller III of Cairo, Ohio, her daughters: Carla Miller and Marlene (Jim) Thorbin of Cairo, Ohio. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren: Dana (Stephanie) Miller, Jennifer Dial, Annette Miller, Eric (Chasity) Miller, Clinton (Casey Guthrie) Miller, Cassie (Darnell) Sorrells, Crystal (Corey Wilson) Thorbin and Michelle (Danny) Boedicker.
Additional survivors include her nineteen great-grandchildren: Kirsten, Jenna, Lauren, Paige, Olivia, Emma, Carter, Reagan, Grant, Lincoln, Kennadie, Kendrick, Kylin, Tyson, Kamryn, Briley, Kaylee, Knox and Charlie, one great-great-granddaughter Lainey, as well as her beloved dog and best buddy Mila. Also surviving are her three sister-in-laws: Stella Norton, Edna Norton and Sheila Roller.
The Miller family would like to thank Interim Hospice for the professional and caring help they provided.
Visitation will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove on Sunday August 11, 2024 from 2pm until 6pm. Funeral services will begin at 11am on Monday August 12, 2024 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Glory Geib presiding. Burial will follow immediately after at Cairo East Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial contributions are to be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
