Lima, Ohio Doris Elizabeth Clevenger, age 93, died Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio. She was born September 29, 1921, in Lima, Ohio, to Harmon Ward and Clara (Krouse) Beach, who preceded her in death. Doris married Howard "Jay" Clevenger, Jr., who preceded her in death April 21, 1973. She later married Richard R. Reynolds who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Clevenger was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School where she played girls basketball. She was a full-time wife and mother. After the death of her husband, Jay, she returned to school earning her L.P.N., and worked at St. Rita's Hospital in the nursery. Doris was a member of the Vaughnsville United Methodist Church, the Intellexus Club Vaughnsville, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #527, Columbus Grove, and the Lima Chapter of the D.A.R. She loved to knit and sew, enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Doris is survived by two sons: Don (Laura) Clevenger, Lima, Ohio and Dean (Jane) Clevenger, Massillon, Ohio; one daughter Doreen Nameche, Dublin, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Elisa (Mark) Schroeder, Stacy (Steve) Butcher, D.J. (Amy) Clevenger, Greg Clevenger, James (Charlene) Clevenger, Jeremy (Amber) Clevenger, Susie (Adam) Boron, Andrea Nameche, and Melissa (Byron Jones) Nameche; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law: Dennis (Patricia Moorman) Clevenger; two sisters: Ardath Huffman Craft and Leota Catanese; and two brothers: Marvin Beach and William Beach. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday, September 9, 2015 one hour prior to the funeral at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Burial will follow in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vaughnsville United Methodist Church or the Gideon Memorial Bible Program. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
