Donald Eugene "Donnie" Collar's Obituary
Donald E. "Donnie" Collar, 92, of Vaughnsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at home. He was born on November 2, 1933, to the late Henry and Florence (Reese) Collar.
He is survived by brothers, Lloyd Collar and James (Ann) Collar; nieces, Trina Feinberg, Susan Schaefer and Virginia Aguirre; nephews, Brad Collar and Adam Collar; 6 great nieces and nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews; he was very close to his niece, Tiffany Compton and her children, Ethan, Elysia and Eihanna. They were best friends and she cared for him lovingly during his last days. He was also preceded in death by sister, Doris Schaefer; brother-in-law, Virgil Schaefer; sister-in-law, Shirley Collar and nephew, Steve Schaefer.
Donnie was a lifetime farmer with his brother, James. He graduated from Vaughnsville High School. He had a sharp mind and could fix anything. He was known for his many inventions that he could make to fix problem situations. He was a member of the Community Church of Vaughnsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Monday, February 23, 2026, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, 10879 State Route 12, Columbus Grove with visitation two hours prior (9:30 am - 11:30 am). Pastor Thomas Brown officiating. Burial to follow at Vaughnsville Cemetery, Vaughnsville. Preferred memorial contributions can be made to Community Church of Vaughnsville.
