David Goedde Obituary
Kalida, Ohio David W. Goedde, age 58, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends, at 5:51 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born on September 5, 1956, in Lima, Ohio to Raymond E. and Mary E. (Steele) Goedde. They both preceded him in death. Dave's long time companion, Linda Miller survives in Kalida. Mr. Goedde was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1974, after which he entered and served four years in the U.S. Army. He had worked for D.T.R. Industries, Bluffton, prior to which he was an owner and operator of the former Columbus Grove D and S Party Shop. Dave had also been a floor covering contractor. He was a member of the Columbus Grove VFW #9648, Eagle Aerie # 2772 of Columbus Grove, Ft Jennings American Legion Post #715 and was a member of the former Columbus Grove Christian Church. Dave enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes and helicopters. He loved spending time with family and friends around the campfire. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers. Dave was a man who appreciated life in its simplest form, a man who didn't know a stranger, and a man who was a friend to all. His door was always open. He is survived by a daughter: Jaime (Rob) Frye of Kalida; a son in-law: Roger Pardo of Ottawa; Linda's children: Jason (Courtney) Weis of Columbus, Brad Weis of Wapakoneta and Jenna (Jason) Duvall of Lima; eleven grandchildren: Jaret, Jayce and Raelyn Frye, Taylor Lamb, Madison, Jasmine and Skylee Pardo, Carolyne and Jackson Weis, Madalynn and Jacob Duvall; a brother: Dean (Shirley) Goedde of Columbus Grove; a sister: Brenda (Larry) Warnecke of Ft. Jennings; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Leanne Pardo; his sister: Beth Goedde and nephew: Matthew Goedde. Services will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Military Rites will follow the service at the funeral home. Friends may call on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. and following the service until 8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home.
