Fort Jennings, Ohio Clyde “Jay” McKanna, Jr. Jay McKanna, 91, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012, 4:00 P.M. at his home near Ft. Jennings. He was born March 23, 1921 in Fort Jennings to Clyde and Phoebe Jane “Jennie” Edwards McKanna who preceded him in death. He married Ruby Bridenbaugh on June 6, 1948 who survives. He was a lifetime farmer specializing in pork production. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Lima Beane Chorus for over 30 years. He was a member of the Farmer Bureau. He also had served on the board of directors for the Gomer Equity. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Elida. He is also survived by 5 sons: Max (Kathy) of Fairlawn, Ohio; Jon(Linda) of Dublin, Ohio; Don (Audrey) of Springfield, Ohio; Scott (Pam) of Vaughnsville, Ohio; Joe (Jayne) of Bowling Green, Ohio; and 2 daughters Jennie (Gary) Good of Elida, Ohio and Jule E. of Fort Jennings, Ohio. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Joe, Clare, Robert, Don and Max McKanna; a sister Margaret Collar; a grandson Joel Preston McKanna and a great grandson, Ian Stewart McKanna. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Services will be Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, Pastor Max McKanna officiating. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the care and assistance they were shown by the Putnam County Hospice nurses and staff.
