Cheryl J Auchmuty's Obituary
Cheryl J. Auchmuty, 77, of Columbus Grove, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born on October 13, 1948, to the late George and A. Louise (Bowers) Wreede. On August 24, 1974, she married Lyle H. "Arch" Auchmuty who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two sons, Ryan T. (Tara) Auchmuty and William J. "B.J." (Danielle) Auchmuty, both of Columbus Grove; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Caitlyn), Morgan (Robert Recker), Christian, Loudon, Lauryn, Laney, Peyton and Lydia Auchmuty; one sister, Peggy (Larry) Shepler; and one sister-in-law, Mary King.
She was preceded in death by a son, Trevor H. Auchmuty, and a brother, James King.
Cheryl was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, Class of 1967. She was a simple, kindhearted woman who lived a selfless life caring for others. She enjoyed watching her grandkids participate in sports and school activities, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines. Cheryl also enjoyed working on crosswords and other puzzles, reading the newspaper, and staying connected by following local news. Her warm smile, thoughtfulness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, 10879 State Route 12, Columbus Grove with visitation one hour prior (10:00 am - 11:00 am). Pastor Keith Wilson officiating. Burial to follow at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Visitation is 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2026, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Columbus Grove Athletic Boosters, Columbus Grove Band Boosters, or Columbus Grove Choir.
