Charlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known for her firecracker personality and was never afraid to speak her mind. She began her career in banking at First National Bank in Ottawa. After retirement she worked alongside her husband, Jim, as co-owners of service stations in Ottawa and Columbus Grove. Together they built not only a successful business but also a life filled with love and adventure. They enjoyed traveling together especially to Coldwater Lake in Michigan, with over 50 years of memories made there. She loved to cook and enjoyed trying new recipes. Her family will always remember her Christmas celebrations held on Christmas Eve.
She is also survived by her son, Shane (Marsha) Parys; grandchildren, Alexandra (Daniel) Kroeger and Eric (Brandi) Parys; great-grandchildren, Quincy Kroeger, Copeland Kroeger and Baby Parys on the way; and sister, Barbara Altstaetter. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Davis. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in each of them. Love you always Grandma. "See you later alligator."
