Cecil Williams Obituary
CAIRO Cecil M. Williams, 73, died at 2:23 p.m. May 16, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Ada to Wayne and Anna Elsie Wright, who preceded her in death. In 1958, she married Gene L. Williams, who died Sept. 1, 1986. Mrs. Williams attended Ada High School. Following high school, she was an accountant at Omar Bakery, Lima, worked at RCA Co., Findlay, and retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Lima. She was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Cairo Rescue Squad and the Cairo/Columbus Grove Card Club. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8832 Auxiliary, Roundhead. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her special canine companion, Paige. Survivors include a son, Harry "Jake" (Heather) Williams, of Spencerville; a daughter, Deb (John) Gross, of Cairo; five sisters, Evelyn Fleming, of Lafayette, Norma Davis, of Marion, Patricia Betz, of Kenton, Phyllis Jean Vermillion, of Roundhead, and Helen Smith, of Lima; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Wright, of Ada, and Janice Wright, of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren, Andrew "A.J." Wood, Lucas D. Wood, Matthew J. Williams, Hope D. Williams and Benjamin D. Williams; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ralph, Leo, Ray, Floyd, Gary, William and infant Wayne Lewis Wright; and three sisters, Betty Jo Klinger and Shirley and infant Rosemary Wright. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Greg Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
