Carroll Hefner Obituary
Carroll Hefner, 78, of Cairo, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 16, 2024, at her home. Born in Lima, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Kerr) Long. She was a graduate of Lima Perry Schools, a proud valedictorian of her class. Shortly after graduating, she worked for Superior Coach as a secretary who had excellent shorthand and typing skills. She also worked at AVI Foodsystems, Lima, Ohio. Carroll was an avid reader of historical romances, who enjoyed birdwatching, spending time with her family and special friend Judy Epley.She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (Greg) Dienstberger; brothers, David (Heather) and Rick (Linda) Long; and granddaughters, Nicole (Jason) Truax and Kirsten (A.J. Carpenter) Dienstberger. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John in 2023.Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, 10879 OH-12, Columbus Grove with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 5 pm, Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Preferred memorials to the Cairo Fire Department.
