Columbus Grove Carole A. Grigsby, 77, died at 1:13 p.m. July 12, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born June 13, 1935, in Lima to LeRoy and Lucille Seitz Hedges, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 17, 1955, she married James W. Grigsby, who survives. Mrs. Grigsby was a 1953 graduate of Elida High School. While working at Nickles Bakery, Lima, she joined the Navy Reserve. She was a real estate agent with Century 21, Lima. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and its Altar Rosary Society. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with her family and all her pets. She enjoyed organic gardening, sewing, painting and walking the fields to collect unique rocks. Survivors also include a son, James "Mike" (Chris) Grigsby, of Columbus Grove; three daughters, Nanette M. Grigsby, of Millersville, Md., Darlene K. Grigsby, of Vaughnsville, and Karen S. Grigsby, of Botkins; five brothers, Jon Hedges, of Toledo, David (Donna) Hedges, of Harrod, Paul (Pam) Hedges and Tom (Connie) Hedges, both of Lima, and Danny Hedges, of Toledo; six sisters, Mary Holtzman, of Toledo, Diane Hedges, of Florida, Lois Schaub, of Toledo, Suzie Money, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Sandy Spillman, of Cridersville, and Barbara Hedges, of Toledo; a sister-in-law, Janice Hedges, of Lima; seven grandchildren, Tim, Eric, Brandon, Hannah, Korey, Jesse and Amanda; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Hedges; and a sister, Nancy Hedges. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Charles Obinwa will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
