Carol Core Obituary
Cairo, Ohio Carol J. Core, age 64, died at 4:55 p.m., on April 27, 2016, at ProMedica Hospital of Toledo. She was born May 15, 1951, to James V. and M. Pauline (Stover) Core. They both survive in rural Elida. Other survivors include a sister: Janet Marie (Lloyd) Edwards of Pinehurst, North Carolina; and a brother: James A. Core of Vail, Arizona; along with many cousins. Carol retired after 35 years of teaching in the Cairo and Bath Elementary School System. She graduated from Bath High School, class of 1969, and went on to earn a bachelors degree in education at The Ohio State University, and her masters degree at Wright State University. She was a member of the Cairo Christian Church where she had played organ and piano, along with playing at the Columbus Grove Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed working with her flowers, traveling with her friends and attending her book club, comprised of 4th grade teachers. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Geoff Eubank will officiate with burial to follow at Cairo Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 1, 2016, and one hour prior to the service on Monday, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
