Beverly Schwartz Obituary
VAUGHNSVILLE — Beverly Jane Schwartz, 74, died at 11:05 a.m. March 10, 2013, at Parkview Continuing Care, Fremont. She was born June 25, 1938, in Vaughnsville to Howard R. and Marguerite M. Dunlap Pitney, who preceded her in death. She married Ed Wilson, who preceded her in death. She then married Joseph Schwartz, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Schwartz worked for Dr. Will Moody’s Medical Practice, formerly of Vaughnsville, after which she went to work at St. Rita’s Medical Center for more than 30 years, from which she retired. She was a member of the Vaughnsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed very much spending her summers on Long Lake in Michigan. Her nephews and nieces were always special to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, David Utrup, of Vaughnsville, and Edward (Sherry) Wilson, of Fremont; two stepsons, Michael (Margaret) Schwartz, of Delphos, and Marvin Schwartz, of St. Marys; a stepdaughter, Patricia Hensley, of Spencerville; a brother, Douglas “Doug” Pitney of Vaughnsville; three sisters-in-law, Lila Deerhake, of Columbus Grove, Carol Pitney, of Columbus Grove, and Linda Bruce, of Colorado; a special aunt and friend, Creatora Beam, of Tennessee; and nine grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmie L., Robert S., Gary Dean and Danny Ray “Butch” Pitney. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Mark Walls will officiate. Burial will be in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
