Columbus Grove, Ohio Betty I. Michel, age 87 years, died on Friday, March 14, 2015, in Phoenix, Az. She was born on December 29, 1927, in Wilshire, Ohio to John William and Bessie Mae (Hole) Miller. They both preceded her in death. On January 25, 1957, she married Paul Bernard Michel, and he died on March 16, 2006. Mrs. Michel was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary, and CLC of the church. She was a graduate of Wilshire High School, class of 1946, and of Werner Beauty School, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Betty had retired from the former Grove Supermarket, Columbus Grove. She was a member of the Bowers Slusser American Legion Auxiliary, Post 516, Columbus Grove. Survivors include a daughter: Carol Lyn (Jim) Vick, Phoenix, AZ; one sister: Virginia Dague, Pleasant Mills, IN; brother and sisters in-law: Dick (Maryann) Michel, Ottawa, Loretta Foughty, Columbus Grove, Rita Warnimont, Miller City, and Edith Kleman, Continental; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Dorothy Tussing, Patty Hoskins, Ionola Jane Miller and Mary Lou Baker. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 1:00 pm, on April 24, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio, Father Tom Extejt will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School Endowment Fund, 520 West Sycamore, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
