Columbus Grove, Ohio Barbara R. Fruchey Beam, 80, died at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014, at The Meadows of Kalida, Kalida, Ohio. She was born on July 21, 1934, in Pandora, Ohio to Leonard and Gladys (Baker) Sutter., they preceded her in death. Barbara married Ted M. Fruchey on April 3, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1988. She then married Robert D. "Bob" Beam on September 3, 1994, he survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Mrs. Beam was a graduate of Pandora High School, class of 1952. She was a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church and the Women's Fellowship of the Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher and had participated in many various activities of the church. Barb was a member of the Columbus Grove Garden Club. She had raised three children and actively participated in the activities of her seven grandchildren. She was the Sunshine and was a blessing to all who knew her. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care provided by the entire staff of the The Meadows of Kalida, over the past 16 months. Survivors include one son: Craig (Mary) Fruchey, Canton, Ohio; two daughters: Karen (James) Palte and Elaine (Steve) Amstutz, both of Columbus Grove, Ohio; two step-sons: Jeff (Sally) Beam, Tipp City, Ohio and Terry Beam, Troy, Ohio; three sisters in-law: Ginny Sutter and Ruby Miller both of Lima, Ohio and Donna (Dwight) Lutz, Bluffton, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Tisha (Terry) Meyer, Eric Palte, Erin Fruchey, Adam Fruchey, Kaleb, Melissa and Conner Amstutz; and a special niece, Jean (Dan) Breitgam, Wapakoneta, Ohio. She is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Sutter and a sister Kate Long. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Columbus Grove Christian Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Pastor Geoff Eubank will officiate, with burial in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 12:00 -4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday October 13, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
