Angela Knott Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Angela M. Knott, age 96, on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at her home near Columbus Grove, Ohio. She was born February 9, 1920, in Leipsic, Ohio, to August and Martha (Goedde) Niese. They both preceded her in death. On June 3, 1942, she married Richard F. Knott. He died September 23, 1985. A homemaker and the wife of a farmer, Angela worked her entire life on the family farm. She had also cleaned the Columbus Grove Telephone Co., now Fairpoint Communications from 1970 until May of 2015. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, where she was past president and member of the Altar Rosary Society. Angela enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Angela is survived by daughter Doris A. Knott of Columbus Grove; daughter Patricia (Richard) Smith of Lima, granddaughter Kimberly (Levi) Bontrager of Findlay, grandson Ryan (Jessica) Smith and their children, Jaden Green and Lela Maureen Smith of Lima; and daughter Janet (Tony) Neely of Toledo, and granddaughter Allison (Christopher) Sniegowski and their children, Alex and Zach Sniegowski of Sylvania; grandson Michael Neely of Toledo. She is preceded in death by her sister, Alice (Edwin) Beckman, and three brothers, Aloysius (Alma) Niese, Alfred Niese, and Andrew (Etheldreda) Niese. The family would like to acknowledge a true friend and neighbor, Charrisa Snider. And a Special "Thank You" to caregiver, Chris Williams and her family. Visitation will be from 8:30 -10:30 am on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, after which, Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, celebrated by Father David Ross. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would also like to thank Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that they gave their mother.
