Alberts Hurley Obituary
CAIRO Alberta M. Hurley, 88, died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 31, 2013, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Lima to Lloyd and Mary Carlisle Emehiser, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 15, 1945, she married David G. Hurley, who died Jan. 31, 1995. Mrs. Hurley was a member of United Church of Christ. She had worked at the Lima Tank Depot during World War II. She was a member of the Women’s Society of Cairo and the Lima Nifty Needles quilting club. She loved making quilts for family and friends. She was also a member of Delta Pi Sorority, Lima. Survivors include a son, David L. Hurley, of Corunna, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Josh (Dawn) Hurley, of Auburn, Ind., and Katie Maldeney, of Woodbridge, Va. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold L. “Buck” Emehiser. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Jim Klausing will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cairo Fire Department and EMS.
