A. Wright Obituary
Columbus Grove A. Frank Wright, 88, died at 5:20 a.m. April 10, 2012, at The Meadows of Kalida in Kalida. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Columbus Grove to Albert L. and Irene Miller Wright, who preceded him in death. On June 29, 1947, he married Rosetta Natalina Diotto, who died Oct. 14, 2005. Mr. Wright was a 1942 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Italy, where he met his wife. He was a lifelong farmer, with his two brothers, jointly working the family farm. He was a member of Cairo Christian Church, Cairo. He was a member of American Legion Post 517, Columbus Grove and the Allen County Cattleman's Association, where he was named Farmer of the Week Jan. 12, 1959. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Survivors include five daughters, Linda C. (Bill) Witteborg, of Columbus Grove, Sandra (Darrell) Gehring, Teresa (Joe) Patton and Barbara (Mike) Stump, all of Elida, and Lisa (Ron) Fletcher, of Englewood; a sister, Thelma Brouse, of Winchester, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Irene Wright and Jane Wright, both of Columbus Grove; 12 grandchildren, W.D. (Tina) Miller, Samantha (Lee) Brown, Natalie Miller, Adam (Autumn) Gehring, Andrew (Kim) Gehring, Marci Dunlap, Tyler Dunlap, Ashley, Matthew and Jared Stump, and Alex and Rachel Fletcher; four great-grandchildren, Carson and Kamryn Miller, and Holden and Greta Gehring; six stepgrandchildren, Jon (Tina) Witteborg, Mick (Doug) Bellman, Kim (Jonathan) Mims, Joe (Megan) Patton Jr., Darren (Barb) Patton and Lauren (Eric) Clapper; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Richard Wright; and a son-in-law, Thomas P. Miller. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Cairo Christian Church, Cairo. Dr. Charles Hirschy will officiate. Burial will be in Osborn Cemetery, Columbus Grove, with military rites. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Cairo Christian Church or Putnam County Council on Aging.
