Thomas J. Darby, Jr., 88, of Columbus Grove, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in Kalida, Ohio. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas J. “Juke” and Cleo G. (Harris) Darby. On September 7, 1958, he married Louise M. Shields, who preceded him in death on June 17, 2025. He is survived by sons, Thomas J. (Susan) Darby and Todd J. Darby; grandchildren, Deedra (Morvin) Dixon, AJ (Kay) Darby, Kelly Darby, Jennifer (Caleb) Zachrich, Ryan Darby, Thomas J. Darby, IV, Danielle (Dusty) Cox, and Michelle (Ricky Thornton) Darby; great grandchildren, Oliver Cox, Willow Zachrich, Beau Cox, Casey Thornton, Easton Zachrich, Jordi Thornton, Ezra Dixon, Micah Dixon and Josiah Dixon; brothers, Richard (Sonie) Darby, James (Jacquie) Darby and Douglas (Kris) Darby; sisters Joanne Darby and Susan Kiser.
Tom started his employment with White Chevrolet, Ed Peyton V.W., Tiny’s Auto Wrecking, Alan Nott, Inc., DTR Industries and Darby’s Auto Sales. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to spoil his grandchildren.
