Paul Best Obituary Columbus Grove, Ohio Paul J. Best, 71, died at 11:50 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio, surrounded by his wife and three children. He was born on May 3, 1943, in Lima, Ohio to Lawrence and Clara (Smith) Best. They both preceded him in death. On September 7, 1968, he married Constance Kleman. She survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Mr. Best was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1961. He was a farmer and a Route Salesman for Frito-Lay, retiring after 34 years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 9788, and the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's Parish. Paul was a member of the Bowers Slusser American Legion, Post 516. He loved to support all the Columbus Grove Sports and the Ottawa Glandorf Basketball team. Paul loved to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Boston Celtics and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Survivors include a son: Brian (Sarah) Best, Dublin, Ohio; two daughters: Erin (Mike) Davis, Upper Arlington, Ohio and Kathy (Dan) Turnwald, Columbus Grove, Ohio; one sister: Colleen Best, Kalida, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Rachel Turnwald, Jonathan Turnwald, Grace Turnwald, Rose Turnwald, Clare Turnwald, Hudson Davis, Charlotte Davis, Mia Best and Ava Best. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother in-law, Jean (Jerry) Niemeyer, a brother, George Best and sister in-law, Pat Alt. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00-8:00p.m. and Friday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. A Rosary Service will be lead by the Columbus Grove Knights of Columbus, on Friday at 8:00 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony's Catholic School Endowment Fund.
