So sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. Spent a lot of time on the farm before uncle Leroy was married. Both he and uncle Gene were like older brothers to me. Treasured memories of your Dad for sure. And the Dairy Queen years with your parents were pretty special also. His advice to me at my Mom’s funeral I share with you now , “You have 2 minutes to cry good and hard and then move on.†Can still hear him…….
It was so fun to be a small part of the Maag family. Leroy always had a smile and was ornery. He loved Karen so much. You could see this when you were around them. I so enjoyed babysitting the boys and working at the Dairy Whip. They were a good hardworking family. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Leroy and Karen.
I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Leroy's passing. He was such a wonderful man that both Arthur and I admired very much. I always loved hearing he and Aunt Karen's playful banter back and forth as he took her very specific cooking directions while buzzing around the kitchen, always with a smile on his face! We are grateful that they welcomed us into their home during the holidays, it was always a highlight of the year for us. I hope the Maag family takes comfort in knowing that Leroy has reunited with his great love Karen and the rest of his departed family in the hereafter. Sending all of our love from up north.
